Sax in Turkey…

I’m delighted to be returning to the Presidential Symphony Orchestra, Ankara with super-saxophonist
Amy Dickson! Glazunov’s Saxophone Concerto, Shostakovich’s 9th Symphony and a neglected masterpiece, Dvorak’s Vodník –a first in Ankara!! Concerts November 15 and 16.

English, Irish, Welsh …
In December I return to work with the students of the Trinity Laban School of Music and Dance. A program of English greats - Holst, Maconchy and a rare outing of Grace Williams’ Symphony No. 2. A virtuoso program for the fearless musicians of Trinity Laban! Always a pleasure to work with these young stars! December 12.

Stravinsky Down Under!
I’m looking forward to working with the Australian Youth Orchestra and the extraordinary William Barton for the first time! Two programs in Adelaide of Stravinsky, Sculthorpe, Smetana, Ravel and Frerer. January 11 and 18.


New Music Melbourne
After the AYO concerts I’m going to drive the Great Ocean Road form Adelaide to Melbourne. Looking forward to working with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra again. This time we’re performing an exciting program of brand new Australian music. January 24.

UK Concerts - Beethoven at 250!
December 16, 2019 marks 250 years since Beethoven’s birth and next year I’m delighted to be celebrating this anniversary in a number of concerts with the London Philharmonic and Royal Philharmonic Orchestras and pianists Joanna MacGregor and Freddy Kempf.
